About Panama

Panama is unique in that it has some of the most accessible rainforests and high altitude cloud forest in the world. In Panama you will find more than 10.000 varieties of plants and more than 933 species of birds - more than can be found in all of North America and Europe combined - including, some of the rarest on Earth. Panama has more than 30% of its national territory protected, which presents excellent opportunities to see wildlife and learn about tropical environments.

The best birding areas in Panama are the Canal Zone, the western highlands of Chiriqui province and the rugged Darien region of eastern Panama.
